the zahir (i)

…in it i find the symbol of my own path, something that helps me understand who i am and why it took so long to make the decision that was always there waiting for me.

. ‘esther’ was the only woman who understood one very simple thing: in order to be able to find her, i first had to find myself.

. the scandal over famous writers did not last long in europe, and especially in france, infidelity is not only accepted, it is even secretly admired. and no one likes to read about the sort of thing that could so easily happen to them.

. generally speaking, the universe tells us when we’re wrong by taking away what is most immprotant to us: our friends.

. i learned something recently: our true friends are those who are with us when the good thing happen. they cheers us on and are pleased by our triumphs. false friends only appear at difficult time, with their sad, supportive faces when in fact our suffering is serving to console them for their miserable lives.

. absolute freedom doesn’t exist; what does exist is the freedom to choose anything you like and then commit yourself to that decision.

. when i had nothing more to lose, i was given everything. when i ceased to be who i am, i found myself. when i experienced humiliation and yet kept on walking, i understood that i was free to choose my destiny.

. as ‘danite’ wrote in the ‘divine comedy’: “the day that man allow true love to appear, those things which are well made will fall into confusion and will overturn everything we believe to be right and true.”

. love is an untamed force. when we try to control it, it destroys us. when we try to imprison it, it enslaves us. when we try to understand it, it leaves us feeling lost and confuse.
